Akshay Roy was created in Mumbai on 25th of Apr, 1979. He spent the first many years of his lifestyle in Nigeria, where his parents shifted once his dad got employment there. At age 10 he became a member of a boarding college, Mayo University, Ajmer where he researched till course 12. He was a dynamic sportsman and finished up as the institution basketball and cross-country captain in course 12. Besides that he was a university monitor and home captain in his last year aswell. While at Mayo, he also got part in a variety of debates and has and won the institution cravat in both spheres. He also proceeded to go from Mayo to Radley University in the united kingdom on the exchange plan in course 11. From Mayo, Akshay joined St.Stephens University, Delhi where he studied British Honours. It had been right here that he got completely drawn into theater in the college’s Shakespeare Culture and performed in and directed different plays just like the Product owner of Venice, The Tempest, The Cup Menagerie and In Camcorder among others. Post St.Stephens, Akshay joined the Mass Conversation Research Center (MCRC), Jamia to get a 2 season MA in Mass Conversation training course, where he studied filmmaking. Arriving at Mumbai from then on, he proved helpful as an Assistant Director with Farhan Akhtar on ‘Lakshya’, Mira Nair on ‘The Namesake’ and ‘Vanity Fair’, Deepa Mehta on ‘Drinking water’, Paul Greengrass on ‘The Bourne Supremacy’ and John Hay on the BBC film. He has directed several short movies including ‘A Footwear Tale’, ‘All is Good’, ‘The Last Dance’ and ‘The Surface finish Line’ which have showcased in a variety of International Film Celebrations (the Montreal Globe Film Celebration, the Indian Film Celebration of LA, the Indo American Arts Council Celebration in NY, the Independent South Asian Film Celebration in Seattle, the Bollywood and Beyond celebration in Stuttgart as well as the Kerala, Mumbai and Pune International Film Celebrations. His short movies have also earned various awards like the Greatest Film on the Orion Film Celebration, the 0110 United kingdom Council Film Celebration as well as the French Embassy honours. In 2011, he earned a Country wide Award for his brief film ‘The Surface finish Line’. Akshay’s brief foray into marketing, directing the Dove ‘Inner Radiance’ film for Ogilvy, won him a sterling silver on the Hero Awards. He was, right up until recently. directing a film that had been co made by Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor.
