Alan Bean 1st started out being a Navy Check Pilot, he flew over 5500 hours, and flew 27 different aircrafts. Alan Bean became an astronaut in 1963. But wasn’t selected for just about any missions for sometime. It wasn’t until fellow astronaut, Charles Conrad (aka Pete), asked him if he wished to participate on Apollo 12 following the loss of life of C.C. Williams, whom Bean continued to displace. On Apollo 12, he was The Lunar Excursion Component pilot (LEM Pilot) and became the 4th guy to walk over the moon in November of 1969. He flew once again on Skylab 3, and is at space for 59 times in 1973. Alan retired from NASA in 1981. He’s now an musician, painting his encounters over the moon. He released a reserve of his artwork in 1998, entitled “Apollo: An Eyewitness Accounts by Astronaut/Explorer/Musician/Moonwalker Alan Bean”.
