The grammy award winning Edwin Hawkins continues to be coined, The daddy of contemporary gospel. He increased to popularity when the choir he co-founded,The North California State Youngsters Choir, aka, The Edwin Hawkins Performers , performed a fresh version from the hymn, O Content Day (1969). R / c in the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Bay area started playing the melody, which was popular as well as the choir’s record marketed over one million copies, getting an international achievement. The melody O Content Day was contained in the Music of the Hundred years list. Types of various other successful albums contained in Edwin’s job application’ are Let me Teach the Globe to Sing (1972), ” NEW WORLD ” (1973), Great (1976), as well as the Comforter (1977).
