Mini Biography

Given birth to and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, Alex began his performing career at age 13 within the repertory firm over the Gemini Award being successful children’s series Incredible Tale Studio. Since relocating to Calgary in 2005, he has trained at Firm of Rogues Actor’s Studio room with Joe-Norman Shaw and Christianne Hirt and spent some time working using the Rogues repertory firm, with assignments in Julia Jordan’s St. Scarlet (2007) and Cowtown (2008). While schooling and dealing with Rogues, Alex continuing to gain knowledge with various other theatre businesses and on established, winning roles over the Gemini Award earning series, Renegade press.com; CBC’s Heartland and Paul Gross’s Genie Prize winning World Battle I play, Passchendaele, in 2007. In the springtime of 2008 he acted alongside two-time Governor General Prize earning playwright, Sharon Pollack and regional Calgary theater icon, Stephen Locks in the Downstage Functionality Society’s creation of Judith Thompson’s Habitat. Alexander was also the receiver of Theater Calgary’s Stephen Locks Emerging Actor Prize that year. In ’09 2009, Alex worked beneath the direction of Kevin McKendrick on Floor Zero Theatre’s production from the Lieutenant of Inishmore by Martin McDonagh. Alex also co-founded his personal small theatre business, the Newborn Theater Collective, in Calgary, Abdominal. He co-produced and performed within their inaugural creation of Neena Beber’s, Jump-Cut, beneath the path of Sage Theatre’s Creative Movie director, Kelly Reay. He now phone calls Vancouver, B.C. his house and he is seen in the tv screen series Caprica (Syfy), Supernatural (CW) & Pretty Legal (USA Network). You can even capture him in the indie horror strike, Tucker & Dale vs. Bad. He is their studies at the East End Actor’s Studio room with Lori Triolo in Vancouver, BC.
