Dzhigarkhanyan was awarded the Armenian Republican Condition Reward in 1975 for “Triangle” and again in 1979 for “Snow in Mourning.” He was called People’s Artist from the Soviet Union in 1985. Dzhigarkhanyan started his acting profession in 1955 in the Russian Stanislavsky Theatre in Yerevan, and in 1967 relocated to the Lenkom Theatre in Moscow. In 1969 he became a member of the Mayakovsky Academics Theater. Given birth to in Yerevan, Armenia, Dzigarkhanyan worked well as associate cameraman at Armenfilm studios in 1953-1954.
