British-Yemeni director Bader Ben Hirsi began his career like a theatre playwright and director with several successes in the Edinburgh Fringe Event and in London where in his early twenties press compared him to Edgar Allen Poe and Jean-Paul Satre, leading What’s On (London) to create he’s ‘a article writer and director too bleak and too amazing to be overlooked’. After reading for his MA in Episode Creation from Goldsmith’s University, London University or college, Bader turned his focus on projects promoting a far more favourable image of the Arab Globe along with his first award-winning feature documentary ‘The British Sheikh & The Yemeni Gentleman’ generating great international appeal. Immediately after, he continued to create and direct Yemen’s first-ever feature film ‘A New Day time In Aged Sana’a’ which once again won an accolade of awards and global acknowledgement. Other tasks include ITN/C4’s effective ‘Hajj; Greatest Trip on Globe’ and O3’s insightful ‘9/11 Through Saudi Eye’. In Abu Dhabi, Bader produced the 1st group of the ground-breaking ‘Hundreds of thousands’ Poet’ series before directing and producing ‘The Arabian Oryx – Freed Spirit from the Desert’. Bader is a co-producer from the Award Being successful Iraqi film ‘Child of Babylon’.
