Barry Duffield was created in 1962, Billingham, UK. He immigrated to Australia along with his family members in 1969 plus they eventually resolved in the Bauxite mining city of Nhulunbuy, North Territory. His first foray into film was when he “borrowed” his fathers super-8mm-camera and created the all singing, all dance, stop-motion Salt’N’Pepper shaker show. There is a visitor appearance with a partly consumed milkshake within a frosty cup, which still continues to be uncredited even today. He was taught to perform the projection booth from the Gove movie theater after getting caught stealing film posters in the foyer and given an option, law enforcement, parents, or honest function.It wasn’t a long time before Barry was splicing film, changing out carbon rods, and managing reel adjustments such as a pro.
