Mini Biography

1952 After four years on the Camberwell College of Artwork, he was hired as trainee Matte painter by Vincent Korda. (The Matte Section was then known as the Special Results Section). Wally Veevers was Mind of Section and his name made an appearance of all credits (normal practice at that time). He still left Shepperton in 1963 to function for Les Bowie on Charlie Schneer’s “First Guys in the Moon”. Ray Caple had been functioning as Les Bowie’s Matte Musician and have been educated by him from an early on age. He distributed all of the matte just work at Bowie’s with Ray. Les Bowie, an excellent painter, had practically ended painting by enough time he visited function for him. Cuff and John Mackey had been employed by Stanley Kubrick to create matte shots from the excavated pit in the moon also to make several travelling pictures of moonscapes for “2001” (1968). Mackey, Bowie and Cuff produced an organization (Abacus Productions) to create TV advertisements. (Les Bowie didn’t desire to be involved with advertisements and acted as sleeping partner, letting his premises and devices towards the offshoot firm). He retired from his advertisements firm Abacus at 1986. His last are matte painter was for the film “Erik the Viking” (1989).
