Composer, songwriter (“The Merry-Go-Round Broke Straight down”), writer and pianist, educated in the Cincinnati University and Conservatory. He was a check pilot at Wright Field. After 3 years as accompanist to Harry Richman in vaudeville, he was presented in British music halls, and later on across the world. He had written the Broadway stage ratings for “Piggy” and “George White’s Scandals of 1929”, and tracks for “Bombo” and “The Passing Display of 1921”. Becoming a member of ASCAP in 1922, his main musical collaborators had been Lew Dark brown, Sidney Clare, Billy Rose, Irving Caesar, Dave Franklin, Abel Baer, and Charles Tobias.
