Perhaps one of the most recognizable voices in LA, Francis Dayle Hearn, better referred to as “Chick” was the play-by-play tone of voice from the LA Lakers for from 1960 to 2002. Known for his witty responses during the video game and lightning-quick reactions towards the play over the courtroom, Hearn was as well-known a character as a number of the previous Laker greats including Jerry Western world, Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlain, Magic Johnson, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Originally from Illinois, Hearn found LA in 1956 and do radio and Television work in a number of sports activities before obtaining his gig using the Lakers. He was also the long-time web host of “Bowling for Dollars.” Hearn in addition has performed the play-by-play for various other sports activities like the 1992 Summer months Olympics.
