Mini Biography
Blessed the eldest kid and third kid of Adam and Mary Defoe, Defoe received a good education, as his dad intended him to become Presbyterian minister, but he thought we would become a product owner instead. In 1684 he became a member of the army from the rebel Duke of Monmouth, however when the rebellion failed, Defoe was compelled into semi-exile. He proceeded to go bankrupt in 1692, and started writing skillfully. He composed a satirical pamphlet in 1703 known as “The Shortest Method using the Dissenters”, that he was pilloried. After a stint in Newgate jail and more issues with his personal bankruptcy, Defoe composed “Robinson Crusoe” and “Moll Flanders”, both which had been great successes. Tagged a public historian for his curiosity about colonization, economics, and exploration, Defoe passed away of the lethargy in Cripplegate on 24 Apr 1731.
