Dave Rochlen was a World-class surfer, U.S. Sea in Globe WWII, popular Santa Monica lifeguard, as well as the Stunt Diver who portrayed Captain Nemo in Walt Disney’s 1954 film edition of Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues Beneath the Ocean. He was presented in Life journal 3 x; was a focal personality in Disney’s Procedure Undersea Television documentary; starred in Bruce Brown’s browsing documentary “America’s Newest Sport” in 1962; developed the distinctive browse wear referred to as “Jams” and founded Browse Range Hawaii in 1964. He received the Ernst & Youthful Hawaii Entrepreneur Honor in 1998 for his accomplishments running a business. Dave passed on from pancreatic tumor at age group 78 in 2003. This year 2010 he was posthumously inducted in to the Browsing Walk of Popularity for his efforts to the activity. He’s survived by family members who continue the business beneath the name Jams Globe, led by boy Pua Rochlen of Hawaii.
