Although he started his music career taking part in folk and bluegrass music (especially as an associate from the Wildwood Boys using the past due Jerry Garcia) David Nelson is most likely best known among the original users of psychedelic country rock-band, THE BRAND NEW Riders from the Crimson Sage. After playing business lead guitar with the brand new Riders from your late sixties before early 1980s, David remaining the music group to pursue additional musical opportunities including a stint on Broadway as an associate from the famous Jerry Garcia Acoustic Music group and some period touring with Al Rapone as well as the Zydeco Express. In the middle 1990s, David created his personal group, the critically acclaimed David Nelson Music group (aka DNB). In 2005, David re-formed THE BRAND NEW Riders from the Crimson Sage and it is taking pleasure in a resurgence in recognition. THE BRAND NEW Riders continue steadily to turn down even more bookings than they are able to accept & most of their displays can be purchased out in advance. Furthermore to NRPS, David still performs along with his personal group beneath the fresh banner, David Nelson & Close friends as well much like The Papermill Creek Rounders, a bluegrass group he co-founded along with his very long time friend, Lowell “Banana” Levenger (previously from the Youngbloods).
