Blues guitarist Denny Freeman was created in Orlando, FL, in 1944 but was raised in Dallas, TX. He performed rock and roll and R&B in a number of bands in Tx. In the 1970s he and renowned guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan became a member of a popular Tx band known as Paul Ray as well as the Cobras. Freeman still left the music group in 1982 and transferred to Austin, TX, learning to be a main participant in the area’s blues picture. He performed in Lou Ann Barton’s music group before signing up for Angela Strehli’s group that calendar year.
