Don Orsillo became play-by-play broadcaster for the Boston Crimson Sox wire network New Britain Sports activities Network (NESN) in 2001. His initial game as Crimson Sox broadcaster, on Apr 5, 2001, was an historical event as Hideo Nomo pitched a no-hitter contrary to the Baltimore Orioles in the next game of the growing season, the first Crimson Sox no-hitter since 1965. He previously been the announcer for the Crimson Sox AAA affiliate marketer in Pawtucket, Rhode Isle. He previously also performed play-by-play work with the Springfield (Mass.) Falcons from the AHL.
