Champ surfer and lifeguard Edward Ryan Makuahanai Aikau was created on, may 4, 1946 in Maui, Hawaii. The boy of Solomon and Henrietta Aikau, Eddie was the 3rd in a family group of six kids. Aikau was raised in Lahaina and went to St. Anthony College in Kailua. Eddie started surfing at age group eleven and shifted with his family members towards the Hawaiian isle of O’ahu in 1959. Aikau lowered out of senior high school at age group sixteen and bought his initial surfboard with the amount of money he made functioning at a Dole pineapple cannery. Among the initial surfers to produce a name for himself braving and besting the monster waves at the seaside in Waimea Bay, Eddie in 1968 became the initial lifeguard to become hired by the town & State of Honolulu to focus on the North Shoreline.
