Among the initial black actors to surface in Uk films. Professional/Playwright Ernest A. Trimingham delivered in Bermuda in 1879. Relocated to Britain to pursue an effective theatrical profession in the first 1900’s. Wrote and starred in the musical play ‘The Lily of Bermuda’ it had been the first completely black themed creation ever stage in Britain producing its initial appearance on the Theater Royal in Manchester in 1909 made by Anglo-Arabic businessman and literary agent Druce Mohamed Ali, unfortunately the play had not been successful. Ernest made an appearance in few movies, it is thought he produced his film debut as Beetle in Charles Raymond’s ‘The Activities of Dick Turpin – The Ruler of Highwaymen for the English & Colonial Film Organization in 1912, His most remarkable part as Pete in Eddie Willey’s ‘Jack port, Sam and Pete’ manufactured in 1919 co-starring Percy Moran, predicated on the popular males’ tales by S. Clarke Hook. His last display appearance is at Horace Lisle Lucoque’s ‘Where the Rainbow Ends’ starring Babs Farren at English Photoplay Film Co in 1921 and his last stage appearance is at London’s West Result in 1941. Passed away in 1942 age group 63.
