Flipper was played by five woman dolphins; Susie, Patty Squirt, Scottie and Kathy. The five dolphins performed most of Flipper’s moments except the popular tail walk, a technique they were struggling to get better at totally. A male dolphin called Clown was earned for moments relating to the tail walk. The popular “tone of voice” of Flipper was in fact the doctored music of the kookaburra
