Mini Biography

A distant relative of Herman and Joseph Mankiewicz, Francis was created in Shangaï in 1944. In 1945, his family members relocated to Montreal, where Francis would spend all his child years. Within the sixties, he graduated in Geology from Montreal University or college and worked within the woods for some time before recognizing geology is probably not his true phoning. In 1966 he enrolled in the ‘London College of Film Technique’. Back Montréal in 1968, he worked well as assistant movie director on commercial movies like ‘L’Amour humain’ and ‘Like is really a four-letter term’. The film was ultimately made out of Yves Simoneau in the helm. Mankiewicz, for his component, was employed by CBC maker Bernard Zuckerman to immediate ‘And You then pass away’, an atmospheric thriller that received two Gemini Television honours. During those years he also aimed Sam Shepard’s play ‘Comme une vue’ in Montréal, his single venture within the theater world.
