Orth started his profession in vaudeville in 1897. He wedded Ann Codee who become his wife for fifty years until her loss of life in 1961. Collectively these were billed as Codee and Orth. He came into movies by causing the first spanish film pants in audio for Warner Bros. in 1928. That began him on an extended career of little parts, frequently playing cops or bartenders and constantly Irish. His most widely known part was as Inspector Faraday in the “Boston Blackie” Television series. He retired in 1959 after going through throat surgery.
