George Robert Wendt III was created and raised in Chicago, Illinois, USA, to Loretta Mary (Howard) and George Robert Wendt, who was simply an agent and navy official. He went to a tight Jesuit prep college and then slipped out of Notre Dame School after several uneventful years. He caused the Windy City’s famous Second City humor troupe from 1974-1980. He’s most widely known for playing Norm Peterson in the strike televison series, Cheers (1982). He’s married to celebrity Bernadette Birkett, who supplied the uncommon offscreen tone of voice of Norm’s unseen wife Vera. The few have got two sons and a little girl. They fulfilled while functioning at the next Town in Chicago.
