Mini Biography

Composer, writer, conductor and arranger, educated on the Knox Institute, Atlanta School, Allen College or university, USC, the Hahn College of Music, the College or university of Pa and the brand new York Institute of Music Artwork. He also researched with Percy Goetschius and was granted an Honorary Music Level through the Philadelphia Musical Academy. In 1925, he shaped the Hall Johnson Choir, showing up in concerts, movies, theater, radio, tv and recordings. He organized and aimed the music for the Broadway creation of “Green Pastures” (where his choir made an appearance), and had written the Broadway stage rating for “Work, Small Chillun”. In 1936, he structured the Event Negro Chorus of LA, and made an appearance in the International Event of Good Arts in Berlin. In 1951, he toured Germany and Vienna through the auspices of the united states STATE DEPT., and won the brand new York Town Citation in 1962. He was also an associate of the brand new York City Residents Advisory Percentage for Cultural Affairs.
