Well-known Norwegian comedian from the silent period, in Norwegian and Swedish films. He produced his stage debut in 1897 on the Christiania Movie theater in Oslo, and was a prominent and active professional in the Norwegian theater. In 1917, he started showing up in silent movies in Sweden, after that came back to Norway in 1927, where he proved helpful in many movies, including several following the development of audio. He produced his last film in 1938, at age 71. His kid Per Aabel was also a favorite comic acting professional in Norwegian movies.
