Her dad was a butcher. In 1913 she fulfilled and wedded matinée idol DeWolf Hopper Sr. and in 1915 they relocated to Hollywood, where both started active film professions. He became a celebrity with Triangle Organization, she started in vamp parts and considered supporting functions. After her divorce she made an appearance in a large number of movies, becoming referred to as “Queen from the Quickies”. In 1936 she began a gossipy radio display and 2 yrs later on commenced a 28-12 months stint like a newspapers gossip columnist, rival of Louella Parsons. In her last movies she mostly performed herself, a tribute to her impact in Hollywood. Her child became popular as investigator Paul Drake in the Perry Mason (1957) series.
