Irwin Yablans has gained a popularity for distributing horror movies, cult movies and exploitation images. Becoming an unbiased manufacturer in the middle-1970s, he began distributing movies that didn’t become huge strikes and released them abroad. Among the movies was John Carpenter’s 1976 film Assault on Precinct 13 (1976). Yablans released it abroad, through his little studio Turtle Launching Company, where it do rather well. In 1977, Yablans became a member of Joseph Wolf to create Compass International Images, a small range theatrical company. Once again, Yablans caused John Carpenter and released his 1978 film Halloween (1978). Yablans pre-sold it into Kansas Town where Halloween premiered and became extremely popular, rank it the very best grossing independent film from the 1970s. Halloween (1978) appeared to increase Yablans’ popularity, but only small success came when coming up with low budget movies for Compass International, including Visitor Snare (1979), _Nocturna_ as well as the Linda Blair movies Roller Boogie (1979) and Hell Evening (1981).
