Kumar was created in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. He belonged to an extremely respected Lucknow groups of Shia Syeds. His actual name was Syed Ali Hasan Zaidi, but was affectionately known as Mir Mujjan by family members and good friends. He began his profession in movies from New Theatres, Calcutta. His 1st two movies had been “Subah Ka Tara” and “Zinda Lash”, in 1932. In these movies, he played the next lead role, as the prospects in both of these had been Kundan Lal Saigal and celebrity Rattan Bai. In his third film, Pooran Bhagat, which also starred K. L. Saigal, he became popularly referred to as Kumar. His various other movies in India had been Yahudi Kee Larki, Watan, Suhag, Shehr Ka Jadoo, Maa Ka Pyar, Mughal-e-Azam, Nek Parveen, Tarana, and Mahal. Kumar wedded a very popular celebrity of her times, Pramella, and both of these established their very own film making home, called Silver Home, making movies like Naseeb, Jhankar, Barey Nawab Sahab and Devar. In 1963, Kumar migrated to Pakistan, and began to work in Pakistani movies without the delay. His kid, S. A. Hafiz, who produced Tauba, afterwards became one of the better and popular directors of the united states. Kamal and Zeba performed the business lead in Tauba, which became a grand achievement. Kumar proved helpful in a number of Pakistani movies, including Head Constable, Azad, Shabnam, Naela, Saiqa, Sajda (his very own film), Hum Dono, Nadya Ke Paar, Ik Musaflr Ik Hasina, Baalam etc. Kumar passed away in 1982.
