After a twenty-year career as a specialist actor, Jay Amari transferred to NY in 1988 to simply accept the Woolrich Scholarship or grant at Columbia University. He further recognized a Fellowship at Columbia University’s College from the Arts and was honored a Master’s Level in Great Arts in 1995. His first appearance onscreen was being a Cockroach within a pesticide business. After that Amari has made an appearance in various union and nonunion independent movies, and TV. His two scripts, “THE BEST” and “Cloudy ALL DAY LONG” were finalists at Stars Theatre of Louisville Country wide 10-Minute Play Competition in 1992 and 1993. Amari resides in NY and has written 3 screenplays about post-modern metropolitan lifestyle that he’s seeking financing for.
