As a guy Jean-Michel Arnold met Henri Langlois, founder from the Cinematheque Francaise, who became his friend and coach in his prolonged passion for movie theater and lifestyle. He create the Cinematheque Nationale Algerienne in the 1960s and arranged the World Movie theater festival through the Panafrican Celebration of Lifestyle in Algiers in 1969. In 1974 he came back to France and developed a department focused on image and research on the CNRS (Center Country wide de la Recherche) known as CNRS Picture/Mass media which he aimed until 2001. With Jean Rouch, he founded the Movie theater du Reel, the International Documentary Film Celebration, which is currently in its 32nd season. He’s General Secretary from the Cinematheque Francaise where he been regularly re-elected since 1981, and it is vice-President, previously Leader, from the IFTC (International Council for Film Tv and Audiovisual Conversation) at UNESCO. He also shows up every once in awhile in movies created by his friends.
