Hollingsworth studied in the Guildhall College of Music, and, simply by 1939, was performing concerts using the London Symphony Orchestra. The next year, he became a member of the orchestra from the Royal Atmosphere Force as a co-employee conductor, at exactly the same time orchestrating wartime documentaries created by the Crown Film Device. After the battle, Hollingsworth alternated focusing on feature movies with performing for ballet and traditional music, frequently executing on the Royal Opera Home, Covent Backyard. In 1945, he became a member of Cineguild to function under Muir Mathieson as helper musical movie director, notably mixed up in Sergei Rachmaninoff rating (the hugely well-known Second Piano Concerto) for Short Encounter (1945). In 1954, he replaced Frank Spencer as musical director at Hammer Studios. As music supervisor, he done a few of Hammer’s best-known movies, like the Curse of Frankenstein (1957)and Horror of Dracula (1958). He also sometimes free-lanced for various other studios, involved with such notable movies as THE INCORRECT Arm of regulations (1963), the Peter Retailers humor Heavens Above! (1963) and Joseph Losey’s THEY ARE the Damned (1962). Hollingsworth continued to be in his placement at Hammer until his untimely loss of life in 1963, aged simply 47, of pneumonia.
