Jon Davison was created on July 21, 1949 in Haddonfield, NJ. Davison researched at NY University’s Film Institute, where one of is own instructors was movie director Martin Scorsese. While participating in NYU Jon staged film retrospectives on the Fillmore East in the East Community. Davison started his career working the St. Marks Cinematheque cinema in NY. Fellow NYU classmate and upcoming film movie director Jonathan Kaplan recommended to Jon that he proceed to LA, California. In 1972 Davison installed with Roger Corman’s prolific B-flick clothing New World Images, where he primarily was the movie director of marketing and promotion. Davison produced his debut as associate manufacturer of “Big Poor Mama.” He continued to create the amusing exploitation feature parody “Hollywood Boulevard,” Ron Howard’s wonderful directorial debut “Grand Theft Car,” and Joe Dante’s wonderful tongue-in-cheek killer pet deal with “Piranha” for ” NEW WORLD ” Pictures. Jon still left New World Images in 1980. He created the uproarious comedies “Aircraft!” and “” INSIDE INFO “!” for Jim Abrahams as well as the Zucker brothers. Davison eventually produced the wonderful and exciting research fiction cult favorites “RoboCop” and “Starship Troopers” for movie director Paul Verhoeven. He continued to create sequels for all those two movies.
