Record professional Jules Bihari–along along with his brothers Joseph, Saul and Lester–started early rock and roll/blues/R&B record business Modern Records and its own subsidiaries RPM Information, Kent Information, Crown Information, Flair Information and Meteor Information. Modern was shaped in 1945 when Jules, a jukebox salesman, discovered himself struggling to get lots of the R&B information a lot of his clients requested. Modern and its own other labels started documenting and distributing information by such performers as B.B. Ruler, Etta Adam, John Lee Hooker and Johnny ‘Electric guitar’ Watson. Famed manufacturer Sam Phillips was at onetime a manufacturer/scout at Contemporary subsidiary Meteor Information; he left to create his own business, Sun Information, and was changed by Ike Turner. The business’s heyday was through the past due 1940s towards the past due 1950s. With the 1960s, as musical preferences began to change even more towards rock-and-roll, Modern’s product sales started to fall. By the finish from the 1960s the brothers offered their businesses and remaining the music business.
