Mini Biography

June Antoinette Pointer was created on November 30, 1953 in Oakland, California to Reverend Elton Pointer and his wife Sarah. She was the youngest person in the hugely well-known and successful spirit/R&B group The Pointer Sisters. June went to Edison Elementary College, Elmhurst Junior Great, and Castlemont SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL. She received an honorary Bachelor of Arts level from Bishop University. June started her professional performing career at age group sixteen along with her sister Bonnie; they shaped a duo known as Pointers, A Set. June’s various other sister Anita became a member of the work in 1969 as well as the duo became a trio. The group ultimately formed right into a quartet when Ruth Pointer became a member of in 1972. The Pointer Sisters continued to truly have a regular succession of strike songs through the entire 70s and 80s. June released the single record “Baby Sister” in 1983; the tune “Ready for a few Actions” was a high 30 R&B radio strike. June sang the tune “Small Boy Special” in the soundtrack from the amusing smash humor “Country wide Lampoon’s Holiday.” In 1986 she sang back-up vocals in the 1987 Best 5 strike cover of “Respect Yourself” by Bruce Willis and in 1987 she sang a duet with Dionne Warwick in the tune “Heartbreak of Like” for Warwick’s record “Reservations for just two.” In 1989 June released her self-titled second single album; the tune “Tight promptly (I’ll Suit U In)” was a good-sized R&B radio strike. She had a big function as Marsha in the 1995 film “French Leave.” Alas, June acquired problems with medication obsession and was ousted in the Pointer Sisters in 2004 (she was also imprisoned for cocaine ownership that same season). June Pointer passed away from cancer on the tragically early age of 52 on Apr 11, 2006 in LA, California.
