Krishnakumar Kunnath or K.K. (simply because he’s popularly referred to as) was created on August 23, 1968. This Delhi-based vocalist found Mumbai a couple of years ago browsing for his profession and lastly, he got a contact to sing a one-minute jingle for vocalist Leslie Lewis for UTV which kick began his profession. He started performing and age two and was an integral part of his university rock-band. He offers sung over 3500 jingles including Monte Carlo, Televisions Scooty, Amul, Britannia and Pepsi’s Yeh Dil Maange Even more in a period of four years. His desire to sing for any Bollywood film materialized when Vishal Bharadwaj asked him to sing “Chod Aaye Hum” in Sampooran Singh Gulzar’s Maachis (1996). But what catapulted him in to the big little league was the wildly well-known “Tadap Tadap” in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999). He still talks in chaste Malayalam, remembers the places and noises of downtown Kerala and feels the ultimate way to attract inspiration for feelings is to check out the poverty and folks around us.
