Composer, educated in the College or university of Wisconsin (Bachelor of Music), Mills University (Expert of Arts, with Egon Petri), as well as the Curtis Institute, with Gian Carlo Menotti. He was the receiver of Fulbright and Guggenheim grants or loans, and a Country wide Institute of Arts and Characters award. For the Phoenix Theater, he made up incidental music for the productions “The Duchess of Malfi”, “She Stoops to Conquer”, “The Octoroon”, and “Androcles as well as the Lion”; for the Shakespeare Event in Stratford, Connecticut; and in addition for “Under Milkwood” and “Tartuffe”. He became a member of ASCAP in 1953.
