Liam O’Leary was created in Youghal, Co. Cork. He was among the founder associates from the Irish Film Culture in 1936. He proved helpful being a theatre movie director before making documentaries in the 1940s. The Irish political party, Clann na Poblachta, invited him to produce a film showing the metropolitan poverty that existed at that time. This is Our Nation (1948). He worked on the Country wide Film Archive, London, from 1953 to 1965.
