Was an aspiring Jewish stage actress in Germany and acquired to flee in 1934 with her first husband, the cutter (film editor) Victor Palfi, following the Nazis found power. She performed only little bit parts in Hollywood, most of them uncredited. Her most remarkable roles had been in Casablanca (1942), where she was “the girl who must sell her diamond jewelry” to be able to get away the Nazis and in Marathon Guy (1976), where she was “the girl on 47th road,” going after a Nazi who’s trying to flee with robbed diamond jewelry. In 1943, she wedded the German-American actor Wolfgang Zilzer (stage name: Paul Andor), who was simply the “man with expired papers” in Casablanca (1942). The few divorced in later years when the American-born Zilzer wished to perish in Germany and his wife refused to come back to her indigenous country.
