Luis Trenker (given birth to in St-Ulrich, southern Tyrol (now Italy) while Alois Franz Trenker) was a film movie director, singer, author, skiing champion and hill climber, wood-carver, stage and film acting professional. He visited college in Bolzano to become carver designer. From 1912 to 1914 he analyzed Architecture. He fought in WWI while an officier in the Dolomite. From then on, he produced a documentary film “Wunder des Schneeschuhs” (1921) with Arnold Fanck. In 1934 he worked well in Hollywood, but returned to European countries. In 1966 he worked well for TV using the skiing champ Toni Sailer in “Luftsprünge”. He resided along with his wife in Meran, held an workplace in Munich, published his Remembrances (“Alles gut gegangen” (“Everything proceeded to go swell”)). He passed away on Pneumonia and coronary attack in a medical center in Bolzano.
