In 1922 American actress, Yvonne Pavis and American director Lawson Harris, found its way to Australia. Collectively they made the films – Child of Australia (1922), Situation (1922) and Sunlight Sally (1923) and, although they were generally well-received, both Pavis and Harris came back to America in 1924, disappointed in the apparent insufficient interest within their suggested programs of “producing movies in Australia, for the entire world”.
