Michelle Lawler is normally a Los Angeles-based cinematographer employed in film and tv since 1999. Her initial feature documentary, Forever’s Gonna Begin Tonight, won many audience honours including Outfest LA 2010. Michelle provides shot many award-winning short movies including You’re Deceased if you ask me, which recently gained the Imagen Prize for Best Brief Film 2014, aswell as two feature movies – Outfest Grand Jury Prize winner Wildness, aimed by Wu Tsang, and CLOSE FRIENDS Forever, starring and aimed by Brea Offer. Michelle co-created and lensed the widely-lauded humor internet series Hudson Valley Ballers – recently greenlit for another season in 2015 – with Sunday Evening Live veterans Paula Pell and Adam Anderson, starring Paul Rudd and Kate McKinnon, and shot Rods & Cones, compiled by and starring Beth Lisick and Tara Jepsen. She’s worked on many parts for exhibition at MoMA, the Hammer Museum, the 2013 Venice Biennale as well as the 2012 Whitney Biennial. Michelle graduated being a departmental honoree in the American Film Institute with an MFA in Cinematography, and was a Cinematography Fellow at Film Separate.
