Nick read Crisis & English in Kent College or university. He produced his professional performing debut in the 1980 revival from the Whitehall farce “Basic Spymen”, aimed by Brian Rix, and afterwards went on to try out opposing Brian in the Western world End revival of “Dry out Rot”. In 1982, he earned the Perrier prize at Edinburgh using the revue group, Authors Inc. Then spent 3 years on BBC One’s Carrott’s Lib (1982), which earned a Bafta for Greatest Live Entertainment program, and found two Sony honours for greatest radio humor with “Boy of Cliche” and “IN A SINGLE Hearing”, which both went for three series on Radio 4. He is at (and published for) the children’ Television shows Play Away (1971), No 73 (1982) and Fast Forwards (1984), and made an appearance on Jackanory (1965) many times including reading his personal story for his or her 25th Birthday festivities (other composing credits include Not really The Nine O’clock Information, Three Of A SORT, Spitting Picture, Smith & Jones, and Smack The Pony) and yes, he has been around Casualty (1986), Doctors (2000), Heartbeat (1992), The Expenses (1984) and EastEnders (1985), where he takes on “Mr. Lister”, the marketplace Inspector. In the Western End, he is at the farces “Dry out Rot” and “Money on Delivery” as well as the revue displays “Information Revue” and “The Sloane Ranger Revue”; various other stage appearances consist of: national travels of “Oklahoma!”, “Outdoors Advantage” and “Work For YOUR LADY”; “Habeas Corpus” (Bromley, Exeter and Farnham); “Neville’s Isle” (Watford); “Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Useless” (Salibury); “THE GIRL Who Prepared Her Hubby” (Hornchurch); “Unintentional Death of the Anarchist” (Southampton); a Middle & ASIA tour of “Bedroom Farce”; “Funny Cash” and “A Bedfull of Foreigners” in Singapore & Kuala Lumpur; and “Away of Purchase” and “It Works In The Family members” with Ray Cooney on P&O’s 2007 and 2008 Globe Cruises; and “Dame” in pantomimes at Salisbury, Hornchurch, Ilford, Worthing, Rhyl, Hull, Malvern, Weston-super-Mare and Basingstoke.
