Owen Brenman was created on 17 Dec 1956 in Ealing, London and can be an British actor most widely known for his part as next-door neighbour Nick Swainey in the multi-award-winning BBC sitcom 1 Feet in the Grave, which ran for a decade (1990-2000) and was compiled by David Renwick. He performed Dr. Heston Carter in the BBC theatre series Doctors. Brenman also performed Lloyd Drewitt in two group of David Renwick’s BBC dramedy Like Soup (2005/8). He also starred in People Like Us, three group of the children’s tv series Woof!, and three group of Alexei Sayle’s Stuff. He performed Mark Thatcher opposing John Wells and Angela Thorne in the politics sitcom Dunrulin’. Within the London stage Brenman performed Theo in the 2006 Western premiere of Steve Martin’s The Underpants in the Aged Red Lion Theater – a reworking of Carl Sternheim’s 1911 satirical humor, Die Line. Brenman also performed Ian in the soccer humor An Evening with Gary Lineker in the Duchess Theater, and Tariq Ali’s and Howard Brenton’s New Labour satire Ugly Rumours (Tricycle Theater), The Ghost Teach (Lyric Hammersmith Theater), C4 Sitcom Event (Riverside Theater) which led to the C4 humor series In Exile and a hardly ever performed Ionesco play, Journeys Among The Deceased (Riverside Theater). Outside London Brenman played Felix in Elly Brewer’s and Sandi Toksvig’s Shakespeare deconstruction The Pocket Fantasy (York Theatre Royal), Brian in Terry Johnson’s Dead Funny (Nottingham Playhouse), toured with Butterflies Are Free, appeared in The Winslow Boy as well as the Trial of Woman Chatterley (Nottingham Playhouse) and Richard Hope’s excellent dark comedy about serial killers as well as the press, Great Copy, where he played a paedophile priest opposing Robert Bathurst’s prostitute murderer (Western Yorkshire Playhouse). In 2008, Brenman finished a UK tour with Richard Wilson of Steve Thompson’s politics comedy Whipping It Up and included in a fresh group of Doctor Who for BBC7. He was nominated for Greatest Actor on the 2010, 2011 and 2016 Cleaning soap Awards.
