Peter Jones is really a composer, multi-instrumentalist and improviser with a broad stylistic range. He continues to be a dynamic musician within the dance field for days gone by two decades. He provides performed numerous leading dance improvisers including Andrew Harwood, David Dorfman, Chris Aiken and Kirstie Simson. He has generated numerous ratings for choreographers including “Viscous Beauties” for Kevin Wynn, “21st Hundred years Stride” for Danny Buraczeski’s Jazzdance and “The Steel Backyard” for Sean Curran. Many of these parts premiered on the Joyce Movie theater in NEW YORK. He also functions as pianist/arranger using the vocalist Philip Hamilton and collaborates frequently with percussionist Tigger Benford. He provides released six CDs of music by himself documenting label Joneschord music. New produces consist of “Skeletons” for single piano and “Steady Motion II”. He’s currently focusing on a new documenting task entitled “Sketches and Fragments”. Currently he’s musical director for the dance program at Mount Holyoke College in western Massachusetts.
