Blanchard was created and elevated in New Orleans where he researched using the Marsalis brothers on the famous New Orleans Middle for the Innovative Arts. In 1980, he received a scholarship or grant to Rutgers University or college and immediately started carrying out in the Lionel Hampton Orchestra. 2 yrs later, he been successful Wynton Marsalis in the famous Jazz Messengers before developing his own important organizations. Blanchard originally started carrying out on Spike Lee’s soundtracks, including “Mo Better Blues” where he ghosted the trumpet for Denzel Washington.
