The son of the former circus clown turned grocer and a cleaning woman, Red Skelton was introduced showing business at age seven by Ed Wynn, at a vaudeville show in Vincennes. At age group 10, he still left home to visit with a medication present through the Midwest, and became a member of the vaudeville circuit at age group 15. At age group 18, he wedded Edna Marie Stilwell, an usher who became his vaudeville partner and later on his chief article writer and supervisor.
