Composer, arranger, conductor, and co-leader (with Eddie Sauter) from the Sauter-Finegan Orchestra, 1952-1957. He analyzed music in the Paris Conservatory, and privately with Rudolph Wintrop, Elizabeth Connolly, Stefan Wolpe, and Valerie Soudere. He organized for the Glenn Miller Orchestra between 1938 and 1942, as well as for the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra from after that until 1952, and he produced many recordings. He also published much special materials for radio and tv. He became a member of ASCAP in 1952, and made up, among others, the favorite song “Chapel Mouse”.
