Schwartz moved to the U.S. in 1902 and in 1926 founded the Yiddish Artwork Theatre in NY. Also in 1926, Schwartz starred in and aimed his 1st film, Damaged Hearts (1926). His most widely known Hollywood film part was that of Ezra in the 1953 creation of Salome (1953). In 1959, Schwartz journeyed to Israel wishing to determine a theater there, but he passed on after staging only 1 creation. In 1991, Schwartz’s film Tevya (1939) was chosen from the Library Of Congress to become put into the Country wide Film Registry among the great American movies ever.
