This 1960s Italian epic star of Swiss-French dual nationality was not the same as almost every other “peplum” actors for the reason that he actually visited drama school. Delivered in Lausanne in 1933 of the Irish dad and French mom, Roland went to the Paris Conservatory, and his early focus on the Paris stage included the function of Fortinbras in Hamlet, plus many shows for the Comedie-Francaise. From 1951 he performed little parts in French movies and eventually produced his international display screen debut in 1956 with a little component in Trapeze where he doubled for Burt Lancaster. In 1959 he attempted his good luck in Hollywood, but due to function permit complications was only provided television little bit parts in Bonanza, Laramie, The Twilight Area, U.S. Metal Hour and Thriller. Time for Europe, he made an appearance in the tv screen series Tales from the Vikings stated in Munich for Kirk Douglas’s firm. Following the epics Roland turned to more creative parts and cameo functions, and utilized the pseudonym “Pole Carter” to use it movies. Since 1982 he continues to be based almost completely in Switzerland, although he lives near Florence.
