Roxolana and family members still left Ukraine in the first 1940’s, journeying through battle torn Eastern European countries to finally have a home in Innsbruck, Austria before immigrating to Canada in 1948, settling in Edmonton. Roxolana analyzed voice as a kid in Edmonton and later on at the University or college of Toronto as well as the Royal Conservatory of Music. She produced her Canadian Opera Organization debut in 1963 as the Milliner in Der Rosenkavalier.
