Given birth to and raised in Iowa, Russell S. Doughten Jr. was thinking about dramatics like a boy yet never viewed it as an occupation. But while going to Drake University with an athletic scholarship or grant, his desire for dramatics grew and, carrying out a Globe Battle II Navy stint, he came back to Drake to review performing and directing. Doughten later on went to the Yale Graduate College of Episode, where he published, aimed and acted. After Yale, Doughten delivered his réamounté to businesses that made spiritual films and was asked to join VERY GOOD NEWS Productions, a filmmaking clothing operating from the little village they possessed in bucolic Chester Springs, Pa. When VERY GOOD NEWS created a secular counterpart (Valley Forge Movies), Doughten created the to begin their features, 1958’s The Blob (1958). Doughten worked well in Hollywood for quite some time but eventually came back to Iowa and founded Heartland Productions and Tag IV Photos, under whose banners he offers produced a large number of feature-length Christian films (including an “end of times” series predicated on Biblical prophecies). When Heartland and Tag IV finished in the middle-90s, Doughten created Russ Doughten Movies, Inc. (www.rdfilms.com), to transport on the custom.
