Fifty percent Swiss and fifty percent Romanian, Ruxandra Zenide was created in Bucharest in 1975. When she was 15, her parents shifted to Switzerland. Zenide was interested in movie theater and in 1998 she became the associate director from the Cinéma Tout Ecran Fim Event in Geneva. After obtaining her Master’s Level in International Affairs in the ‘Institut Universitaire des Hautes Etudes Internationales’ (IUHEI) in Geneva, she researched film directing at the brand new York University to get a year and in the FAMU in Prague from 2000 to 2002. While their studies at FAMU, she co-wrote, created and aimed the brief film “Dirt” that was chosen by many worldwide celebrations incl. Clermont-Ferrand, Bruxelles and Locarno, where she earned the “Reward for Promising Talent”. Her moderate size film Green Oaks (2003), shot in Romania, was a co-production with Swiss Television and had a rigorous film festival existence, winning honours at Brest, Drame, Olympia, Solothurn, Nenzing and Famu Fest. In 2004, she was among the founders from the film creation company Elefant Movies, where she created several movies. Zenide produced her feature film debut using the Swiss-Romanian crisis Ryna (2005), that was shot in the Danube Delta in Romania. Made by her years as a child friend Cãtãlin Mitulescu, co-written by talented Czech screenwriter Marek Epstein and photographed by acclaimed DP Marius Panduru, the film received 25 worldwide prizes at celebrations all over the world. It had been distributed in theatres in america, Switzerland, Germany and Romania and was extremely requested by tv purchasers. Zenide’s second feature film Miracolul din Tekir (2015) was shot once again near the Dark Ocean in Romania and got an equally amazing group with Hélène Louvart as cinematographer, Nelly Quettier as editor and stars Elina Löwensohn and Bogdan Dumitrache in the primary tasks. Ruxandra Zenide offers simply received the «Growing Swiss Talent Honor» in the Zurich Film Event 2015 and her ambitious artwork house crisis will become released in Romania and Switzerland following.
